Cranial Sacral Massage

A type of bodywork that relieves compression in the bones of the head, sacrum (a triangular bone in the lower back), and spinal column.

Like many, my journey into alternative healthcare came through my own health challenges. Before going to chiropractic school, I took a deep dive into diet and lifestyle to improve my wellness and athletic performance as a rock climbing and a runner. It was simple in the beginning, the more habits I changed the better I felt, and the more athletic output was achieved. I was so inspired by these changes that I enrolled in Chiropractic school–I wanted to share what I was learning about health with others.

Everything was perfect, until it wasn’t. Something abruptly changed. My energy levels dropped, brain fog crept in, I was in and out of dizziness, and was having to nap constantly. After a bit of searching and exploring with local doctors I got my diagnosis: Lyme disease. After a year of failed treatments, I sought more answers. This led me to a chronic illness clinic in Wichita, Kansas led by kinesiology and functional medicine based chiropractors. It was the first time my problem had been approached in a holistic manner. All components of my health—chemical, physical, and emotional—were addressed and for the first time in over year, things started to improve. Eventually the fatigue and brain fog dissipated allowing me to excel in school, and I was performing better than ever as an athlete. Most importantly I knew I needed to shift my focus to becoming a kinesiology-based chiropractor and learn everything I could about functional medicine.

I tell this story to emphasize the importance of having a doctor who understands the holistic model of health. Great nutrition and lifestyle are critical to achieving wellness and avoiding disease, but in the modern world of constant stress and immense environmental toxins, sometimes the body needs some extra help.

Hi, I’m Will!

My journey into holistic health began with a tick bite I got while hiking in SW Virginia, shortly after graduating from Virginia Tech. After experiencing strange and mysterious symptoms (lethargy, brain fog, depression, anxiety), I took it upon myself to seek answers to my health problems that Western medicine could not solve…I became obsessed with changing my diet and exercising as a way to help me feel better, and I became fascinated in medicinal plants as powerful tools for relieving various symptoms. My interests landed me in Seattle, WA, where I attended Bastyr University, enrolling in the Herbal Sciences program. I lived in WA for about 10 years, where I immersed myself formal and self-directed education in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, nutrition, pharmacology, microbiology, and food science. Other personal health challenges that informed and drove my interests include parasite infections from traveling, SIBO, food poisonings, food allergies/intolerances, and histamine intolerance.

Coinciding with my intellectual pursuits has been a deep-seated drive for athletic, endurance efforts. I became an ultramarathon runner, participating in several 50K, 50 miles, and 12-hour races in the state of Washington. In fact, my entry into Seattle in 2012 was on a touring bike, hauling a trailer which I rode northward for almost 2000 mile from Santa Barbara, CA along the Pacific Coast route. Nowadays my favorite activities include spin cycling, functional weightlifting, and ecstatic dance.

I decided to move to NWA in the summer of 2021, where upon arrival enrolled in the Black Brook School of Massage in Fayetteville. Shortly after graduating I started working at OHC as a massage therapist and content creator. In addition, am also involved in another passion start-up project as a baker at a new bar/café in Rogers, pairing healthy cake donuts with local craft beer.

My diverse knowledge and experience that has given me some unique insights into the nature of the how the mind/body system works, especially linking the foods and substances we eat with our psychological states and cognition. And my time as a distance runner and all-around athlete gives me the ability to help other athletes through massage. I look forward to meeting you and helping in whatever way I can, be it through massage, or teaching about lifestyle, nutrition, gut health, herbs, and supplements.

My passion for health came from my own health struggles. In my early 20s, for the first time in my life, I began having seizures daily. It was an eight-month journey of frustration and struggles as I looked for answers amongst hospitals, Doctors, Neurologists and even Chiropractors. I found answers with an Applied Kinesiologist doctor, Dr. John Bandy, in Austin Texas. He found the cause of the seizures and gave me the right nutrition that stopped them.

As amazing as this story is, this only began my journey. I realized that I didn’t feel good in a lot of ways, and even though the seizures had stopped, I still felt tired, stressed, and not excited about life. Through the years since, with my studies, my experiences and the help of doctors like Dr. Bandy, I have found, step by step, the changes needed in diet, in activity level, in mental attitude, in mindfulness, and in lifestyle that bring about a healthier and more capable me.

It is this journey that I desire to give and share with others. There is a need to begin with the specifics and reverse the health conditions that we suffer from, but for people to feel how they really want to, we must aim much higher.

My wife always says that our family has had to pass through the health problems we have so that I can learn how correct them to help others. This holds true for the experiences gained with my family’s health problems, my personal health problems and my client’s health problems. I desire to share these experiences and what has been gained to inspire a healthier life in those who come into the office.
